Alt-pop twin duo LÖNA return with their most emotionally resonant track to date, “I Never Wanna Be In Love”—a synth-laden, club-ready heartbreak anthem that pairs emotional honesty with irresistible production. Built for those late-night moments when dancing feels like the only form of catharsis, the single proves LÖNA’s ability to turn vulnerability into something powerful and propulsive.

The track explores the ache of almost-love—a relationship suspended in limbo, painful in its ambiguity. “It’s about caring for someone who won’t meet you halfway,” the duo explains. “Letting go feels like losing everything, even if there’s nothing solid to hold on to.”

Produced by Danielle with co-producer Mischa Dirksen, “I Never Wanna Be In Love” channels the spirit of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own”, blending raw lyrical tension with a driving four-on-the-floor beat. The result is a shimmering yet jagged track—highlighted by the standout lyric: “I bit my tongue till I tasted blood, I don’t want to be loved.”

LÖNA—identical Dutch-born twin sisters—continue to perfect their signature sound: melancholic pop with electronic grit, or as they call it, “dark music for happy people.” With “I Never Wanna Be In Love”, they deliver a song that’s emotionally universal, sonically bold.
