Soul/Jazz Songstress Eyitemi Returns With New EP

UK singer-songwriter Eyitemi likes to blend genres. Her sound is a generous mix of soul and jazz with traces of gospel.

She burst into the jazz music scene as passionate advocate and promoter of UKs most exciting unsigned acts via her entertainment company, J’noir. Some of the acts that graced the J’noir stage include then J’noir Music Director Troy Miller (Amy Winehouse/Gregory Porter/Diana Ross), David Okumu, pianist Andrew McCormack and mercury music prize nominees, Eska Mtungwazi and Soweto Kinch. She also spent 2 years as panel judge in the innovation category of BBC Jazz Awards.

Eyitemi has sung most of her life mainly in church but never explored the singer songwriter route until 2020 lockdown when with lots of time on her hands, she wrote her debut single Alone, which she released in November 2021. Old Friend, also self written, was her 2nd single to be released from debut EP, Taking Flight. The last 3 tracks of EP (all self written) now completed and have been released weekly from 18th November 2022.

The EP is a personal story of growing whole; a sense of awakening. A journey of self discovery. Of reclaiming and fully embracing who I am and in doing so finding contentment. This process has revealed for me new depths and possibilities to live a life no longer controlled by fear in its various forms!
