Andy Macleod Celebrates Music's Near Misses in Edinburgh Fringe Premiere

Not every great music story ends with platinum records and sold-out arenas, and that is exactly what makes Andy Macleod's latest Edinburgh Festival Fringe production so refreshing. Premiering Soho Days, Camden Nights – A Failed Rockstar's Guide To Success this August, the London-based music promoter shines a spotlight on the thousands of talented musicians, managers and dreamers whose journeys rarely make the headlines but whose experiences define the industry just as much as its biggest stars.
Presented at Just The Tonic – Mash House – Cask Room between 6 and 17 August, the spoken word performance draws directly from Macleod's newly released memoir. Audiences are transported back to the bustling streets of Soho and Camden during the height of Britpop, where record companies, rehearsal rooms and small club stages became battlegrounds for hopeful artists searching for their breakthrough. The production mixes sharp comedy with poignant reflection as Macleod recounts his own pursuit of musical success.
The show's themes remain strikingly relevant in today's music landscape.
