Ben Hazlewood’s new single “SPIRAL” marks a striking evolution in the artist’s already passionate discography — a compelling cocktail of emotional vulnerability and sonic uplift.

Hazlewood has always walked the line between intensity and elegance, but here he plunges headfirst into the storm, pulling us along for the ride. With surging synth textures and a rhythm section that pulsates like a heartbeat trying to steady itself, “SPIRAL” feels both deeply intimate and expansively cinematic.

Crafted in collaboration with Austin Myles Grant and Lauren Little, and brought to life in the sonic crucible of New York, the track never feels overworked or overthought. There’s a rawness in Hazlewood’s vocal delivery — like he’s exorcising pain with each breath — that anchors the ambitious production. The lyrics spiral through themes of mental health and personal reckoning, but never sink into despair; instead, there’s a subtle glimmer of hope threaded through every note.

Hazlewood has a rare ability to turn personal struggle into universally resonant art. “SPIRAL” stands as a monument to self-acceptance, defiance, and healing — proof that even in our darkest moments, music can be a lifeline. It’s a statement track from an artist unafraid to feel everything, and invite us to do the same.

On the track, Hazlewood shares, “From the depths of struggle emerges "Spiral," a testament to tenacity and resilience. After years of battling mental health challenges, music became my truest lifeline. At my lowest, I was caught in a spiral of self-destruction, heading toward rock bottom “scanned for exits I won’t walk through.” But I began to find the strength to face my trauma and do the work to turn my life “180 from a spiral.” Healing isn’t linear; it’s messy and hard. But like wildflowers growing through the harshest of elements, I’ve learned that I can thrive. "Spiral" is an intimate yet anthemic reflection of a fight born from the lowest lows, yet soaring with the empowerment of reclaiming life and strength.”
