rom busking on the streets of Camden to selling out shows around the world, Cam Cole has built his career by following his own path. Now, the blues-rock force turns that philosophy into ‘Chasing Dreams’, the latest single from his forthcoming album Lost In Creation.

Set for release on October 30, Lost In Creation represents an expanded new chapter for the fiercely independent artist, with ‘Chasing Dreams’ combining his trademark blues grit and vintage guitar tones with a driving four-on-the-floor rhythm.

At the heart of the track is a shift in perspective. After finding himself consumed by the problems happening around him, Cole began questioning whether changing the world might start somewhere much closer to home.

“The song is about a time when I was trying to solve all the problems of the world and taking them on and getting swallowed up by it,” Cole explains. “It’s about realising that the best thing we can actually do instead is be the best version of ourselves and through that we make the world a better place. So you chase your own dreams and I chase mine.”

That philosophy runs throughout Lost In Creation, which was recorded at Dean Street Studios in London and mastered at Abbey Road.

While Cole retained the raw live foundations behind the one-man-band sound that first earned him attention, recording his Farmer Footdrums and main guitar simultaneously, the sessions became a starting point for considerably greater experimentation.

Guest vocalists, unusual instruments and new layers of production allowed Cole to push his sound into unfamiliar territory without losing the immediacy of his performances.

“This whole album has a different feel to my previous ones,” he says. “We started experimenting and painting around it with different vibes and sounds, guest vocalists and odd instruments, and then the tracks really came alive. That’s where the album title Lost In Creation comes from, we really got lost in it in a good way.”

‘Chasing Dreams’ became one of the unexpected standouts of that process. Initially viewed by Cole simply as a strong demo, the song gradually evolved into one of his favourite tracks on the record, balancing its direct rhythmic drive with blues foundations and vintage rock character.

The release adds another chapter to an independent career that began with Cole performing on Camden’s streets. Since then, the artist known as “probably the heaviest one-man band in the world” has accumulated millions of streams and sold out shows across Europe, North America and Australia.

His music has also appeared in the Emmy Award-winning series Ted Lasso, while an Amazon Prime documentary followed his first American tour. More recently, Cole’s music was added to the soundtrack of EA’s UFC 6.

Despite the bigger sonic ambitions surrounding Lost In Creation, Cole says the album ultimately revolves around something much simpler: finding temporary escape through music.

“I guess if there is a main theme on Lost In Creation that connects all the tunes,” he explains, “it’s about escaping into music and having a breather for a moment.”

With ‘Chasing Dreams’, Cole puts that philosophy into motion, offering an energising reminder to stop trying to carry everything at once and instead put that energy into building a life worth chasing.
