Chayla Hope returns with latest pop-perfect single, “Long Way”.
Having made a name for herself pressing vinyl at Gotta Groove Records in Cleveland, opening for acts like The Marías and collaborating with up-and-coming producer Jesty Beatz, Chayla Hope is ready for her turn in the spotlight. Releasing new track “Long Way” this month, Chayla presents a funk pop tribute to the New Jack Swing era.
Having spent years as part of alternative rock bands, Chayla soon realised that pop was where she belongs. She explains, “Pop is the music that raised me, the music my mom used to listen to while cleaning the house,” she says on planting her musical flag in the genre. “It’s always been there for me as an anchoring and joyful force. It is me.” Previous singles like “Love in Lo-Fi”, “Falling”, “Forget Me Not”, and “High” offer insight into what her debut album ‘Damn, Feelings’ will offer in late October.
New track “Long Way” was mixed by 3-time GRAMMY award nominee Andrew Wuepper, and according to Chayla: “It’s about the feeling of impermanence you sometimes get growing and experiencing life with someone, knowing and eventually telling them it might not last forever.”.
