With Learning How To Live, Freya Rose steps fully into her voice, delivering an EP that is as raw as it is polished.

Across five tracks, she fuses grungy indie rock with intimate storytelling, tackling themes like heartbreak, self-discovery, and the pressures of modern life. The result is an emotionally resonant and sonically adventurous collection that highlights her growth since her award-winning debut Girlhood.

Standout tracks like ‘It’s Not A Race To The End’ and ‘Hopeless, Gracious, Weak’ demonstrate Rose’s talent for blending upbeat melodies with deep, reflective lyrics. From driving guitars and playful percussion to lush strings and layered vocals, the production throughout the EP is rich and dynamic, giving each song a distinct personality while maintaining a cohesive emotional thread.

The final track, ‘Rebirth’, encapsulates the EP’s central themes with a hauntingly beautiful a cappella arrangement. By the end of Learning How To Live, it’s clear that Freya Rose is an artist unafraid to explore the shadows while celebrating moments of clarity and acceptance. The EP is both a personal diary and a universal reflection, compelling, heartfelt, and impossible to ignore.

On the release, Freya Rose shares, “This record is about sitting with discomfort. About realising that you don’t suddenly get better or find answers, you just learn how to live alongside everything. This is the first time I’ve really taken charge of the production and recording, and found joy in the art of making music itself. It truly feels like the most honest version of me.”
