Pittsburgh-based rising artist Luwidakid is turning up the heat with his latest single, “True Colors”—a vibrant, rhythm-heavy celebration of self-expression and musical fusion. True to his self-coined genre “afro-jig,” the track seamlessly blends the percussive flair of Afrobeats with the lyrical sharpness of hip-hop, offering a high-energy anthem built for dance floors and day parties alike.

Born in Cameroon, raised in Northern Virginia, and now rooted in Pittsburgh’s thriving music scene, Luwidakid’s sound is a global crossroads. Drawing from an eclectic mix of influences—Bob Marley, P-Square, Kid Cudi, Kendrick Lamar—he crafts tracks that are culturally layered and emotionally charged, yet always crowd-ready.

On “True Colors,” Luwidakid channels his signature charisma into a track that oozes summertime energy. Built on a beat sent by his friend Curley, the song was sparked in an instant. “The flow just started playing in my head,” Luwidakid recalls. “I wanted to show my rap ability… the song just feels so good.” And it does—from the moment the beat drops, “True Colors” radiates joy, swagger, and confidence.

What sets the track apart is its careful balance between vibe and substance. While the melodic bounce and Afro-inspired rhythms make it an instant head-nodder, the tight, thoughtful verses reveal Luwidakid’s lyrical chops. It’s a track that invites movement and introspection, riding the line between celebration and storytelling with effortless cool.
