Pete Beat Is Our New Favourite Enigma

Pete Beat’s style doesn’t fit into any specific genre, but includes elements of folk, electronica, jazz and pop. Influences range from the Beatles to the Prodigy, David Bowie and Daft Punk. Pete Beat is our new favourite enigma! Now he has a new single out and a fun new lyric video to go with it, which you can watch right here:

As for the song, well, it’s a stand-out track, unlike anything we’ve heard before! It’s got a moreish groove with a mesh of electric piano melody, strings and experimental electronic snippets here and there such as in the pre-chorus. The chorus comes and it’s got a feel-good, summery quality (mentions of BBQ and Factor 50 SPF) that will have you pressing repeat!

Pete is no novice. He has been writing and recording for over 25 years. He played the organ as a child, and started producing music using a Commodore Amiga in the early nineties, when he also took up the guitar. Previous releases have gained BBC 6Music and BBC Newcastle airplay, and very positive comments from DJ’s including BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson.

Pete Beat’s new single ‘Drinking Lager’ is taken from his upcoming album ‘Before The War’ and is available to stream & download everywhere HERE
