Critically acclaimed and award-winning New Zealand artist Reb Fountain has released her new single 'Faithless Lover', along with announcing three showcases at the Great Escape Festival and a headline show in London. Released on Flying Nun Records, the song is produced by her frequent collaborator and band mate Dave Khan and is a mesmerizing and captivating journey with sparse instrumentation and a lingering melody that sparks the listener's imagination. The song, described as an epic retelling of transcendent love, is a hauntingly intimate yet cinematic exploration of self-discovery and vulnerability.
Reb Fountain has also released a video for 'Faithless Lover', directed and edited by Lola Fountain-Best, shot on 16mm film. The video creates an archetypal fairy tale using fantasy to explore philosophical themes, inspired by the narrative and filmic techniques of Ingmar Bergman and Jean Cocteau. Reb's music effortlessly combines pop elements with her trademark noir folk-punk sound, and she has been recognized with awards such as the 2021 Taite Music Prize and the Aotearoa Music Award. She has also toured extensively, including joining Crowded House on their tour and making her Australian debut at Womadelaide.
This announcement follows Reb Fountain's spell-binding performances in support of Marlon Williams' UK/EU 2022 Tour, showcasing the power of her live shows.
