Rising alt-indie trio Saltend Recovery deliver a quietly powerful seasonal gem with their new single “Christmas Ambulance”, a cinematic track that balances understated warmth with moments of emotional lift. Crafted with storytelling precision, the song captures the subtle complexities of the festive season, where joy and sorrow often coexist. Produced by Terence Dunn and mixed and mastered by Eddie Al Shakarchi (Voya), the track reflects the band’s meticulous, handcrafted approach, blending warm alt-indie instrumentation with tender, unguarded vocals.

The song’s origins lie in a poem written during a challenging period of family care, evolving into a fully-formed composition in the band’s Brighton studio. Its slow, hazy arrangements shimmer with intimate details, while sudden bursts of energy punctuate the emotional narrative. Accompanying the track is a surreal, family-driven music video directed by Nina Gantz, filmed at her father’s home in rural France. Starring her brother Django as a young man contending with illness, and featuring the family dog Djaya in a memorable performance, the video combines inventive, handcrafted effects with heartfelt storytelling, echoing the song’s themes of finding light amid hardship.

Saltend Recovery, comprised of Terence Dunn, Nina Gantz, and Sarah Newington, blend cinematic sensibilities with alt-indie craft, drawing on their film and musical backgrounds to create a reflective, intimate, and emotionally resonant listening experience. “Christmas Ambulance” is a tender reminder of the bittersweet side of the holidays.
