Liverpool’s own STR^NGE has just dropped their latest single, 'Gal Gadot's Vertigo Overthrow' and it’s a vibrant, genre-bending taste of their upcoming EP. Comprising former The Mysterines drummer Chrissy and members James, David, and Leon, STR^NGE channels the spirit of David Bowie and Talking Heads, delivering a sound that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly innovative.
Produced by Jose Ibanez of The Heavy North, this new track marks a bold departure from STR^NGE’s previous work. It blends indie-rock with scuzz-pop, encapsulating the raucous energy of their live performances while highlighting their knack for melodic hooks and witty lyrics. With soaring guitar licks, urgent lead vocals, live drums, and a thick bass backdrop, the single echoes the dynamic sounds of The Fratellis and Gogol Bordello.
Reflecting on their evolving sound, STR^NGE shared, “This single follows our EP 'Let's Leave the Greyhounds in the Slips' and previews an EP where we've really fleshed out and experimented with our music in the studio.”
