The Ingrid Step Into the Glow of 'Limerence'

There’s something quietly powerful about a debut that doesn’t shout for attention but earns it.

The Ingrid are set to unveil their first single, “Limerence,” an ever-expansive sonic landscape that leans into intimacy, emotional clarity, and hard-won self-acceptance. Rather than rushing toward bombast, the track unfolds patiently, shimmering with the kind of restraint that suggests a band already confident in who they are — and unafraid of the messy truths that come with that.

The Ingrid’s story began modestly in a Chichester rehearsal room, where three musicians chased a feeling that was difficult to name but impossible to ignore. That sense of searching still hums beneath “Limerence,” a song that sparkles and glistens like a quiet reckoning. Built on hazy guitars and introspective lyricism, it navigates themes of self-sabotage, obsession, and eventual acceptance. Jess Charleslyn’s vocals slice through the dreamlike textures, grounding the track in the human tension between control and surrender.

“The song started with a simple idea I couldn’t shake,” Jess explains. “It was just a few lines and chords at first, but it became something else entirely once I brought it to the rehearsal room.” That transformation was helped along by legendary producer Greg Walsh — whose résumé spans Kate Bush, Heaven 17, and Pink Floyd — bringing depth and polish without sanding down the song’s emotional edges. The result feels immersive but intimate, expansive yet deeply personal.

For The Ingrid, artistry isn’t a buzzword — it’s the backbone of everything they do. Each release is an opportunity to push back against a music industry that too often prioritizes output over intention. Leading with defiant creativity and unapologetic experimentation, the band positions itself as part of a new wave — one that insists modern artistry can still be thoughtful, challenging, and emotionally honest.

Formed while at university in Chichester, The Ingrid is the collaboration of Jess Charleslyn (vocals, guitar, keyboards), Will Hornsblow (guitar), and Josh Platt (drums, vocals). Blending dream pop, shoegaze, and modern indie, their sound balances melodic clarity with emotional bite. More than just a band, The Ingrid represent a growing network of collaborators united by fairness, creative freedom, and artistic integrity. With “Limerence,” they offer a reminder worth holding onto: when music leads, everything else tends to follow.
