The Leaning Unveils Genre-Bending EP ‘The Orange Night’

Meet The Leaning, a Brighton-based duo comprising vocalist and songwriter Sam Jordan and guitarist extraordinaire Ez Stone. Together, they've orchestrated a musical journey that transcends genres, leading listeners through realms of psych-noise, surf pop, and indie with their latest EP, 'The Orange Night'.

Produced by the acclaimed Jimmy Day (known for his work with Massive Attack, Black Coffee, and Rósín Murphy), the EP intricately weaves together alternative, atmospheric soundscapes with hints of electronica, folk, and psychedelic undertones.

Behind the ethereal sounds of 'The Orange Night' lies a narrative inspired by the duo's surroundings—a harborside apartment overlooking Portslade Harbour, where colored sunsets dance on the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and gold. This backdrop of natural beauty and seasonal transitions infuses the EP with a sense of longing, nostalgia, and the fleeting promise of summer amidst the impending arrival of winter's chill.

With a string of sold-out headline shows in Brighton and London under their belt, as well as memorable performances alongside acclaimed artists such as The Last Dinner Party and Gaz Coombs, The Leaning is poised for greater heights. Their upcoming tour dates promise to be a celebration of music, community, and creative expression, with each performance offering a glimpse into the duo's evolving musical universe.
