cln shares creativity in alternative-R&B new track 'rainonmyparade'

Australian songwriter and producer Callan Alexander, known by his moniker cln, continues to mesmerize audiences with his distinct blend of alternative-R&B infused with indie-pop sensibilities. Following the success of his previous singles, 'Monday Morning' and 'ihopeyoufindsomeone', cln unveils his latest offering, 'rainonmyparade', the third lead single from his much-anticipated upcoming album.

Inspired by a casual encounter with the phrase "rain on my parade", cln intricately weaves this intriguing expression into a beautifully crafted track. The song delves into the concept of someone actively seeking to have their parade rained on, adding a unique and somewhat damp twist to its narrative. Callan shares insights into his creative process, revealing that the initial spark for the song came from his desire to incorporate this captivating phrase into his lyrics.

"'rainonmyparade' was mostly made because I wanted to use ‘rain on my parade’ as a lyric. I heard the expression being used in conversation a while back and straight away thought: 'oh that would be pretty good in a song' and here we are," shares cln. "For some reason, the idea of someone specifically asking for their parade to be rained on appealed to me during the writing process, so I guess this parade is a bit damp."

The evolution of 'rainonmyparade' from its humble beginnings as a slow acoustic demo recorded on Callan's iPhone to its final polished form showcases his meticulous attention to detail and dedication to his craft. The track underwent a transformation as the artist sped up the tempo and gradually added layers of instrumentation over the course of several months, culminating in a mesmerizing sonic landscape that captivates listeners from start to finish.

As the anticipation builds for cln's upcoming album, 'rainonmyparade' stands as a shining example of his boundless creativity and unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of alternative-R&B music.
