Indie trio Feral Family return with their sophomore EP So Far Behind.

Across its six tracks, the EP balances raw, riff-driven intensity with moments of vulnerability and emotional depth, presenting a sound that feels both sharpened and more intimately authentic. This is a release that will resonate with fans of Fontaines D.C., Foals and IDLES.

Inspired by Frank Herbert and Sergio Leone, Feral Family’s sound is driven by towering guitars and widescreen dynamics. The band’s growing profile mirrors this artistic progression. Previously described by Apricot Magazine as “one of the most compelling new acts in UK alternative music,” Feral Family were recently named Top Five finalists in a competition to support Only The Poets at their £1 Brixton Academy show, selected from thousands of hopefuls. The achievement followed a runner-up achievement for Best Indie Band at Radio Wigwam’s annual awards and a spot on KEXP’s playlist.

Produced by Liam Radburn, So Far Behind is driven by dynamic drum patterns and heavy guitar riffs. Opener The Balance immediately establishes its intensity, while closer Down In The Dirt wraps it up with an impactful punch. Endless Night features soaring vocals and thunderous guitar lines, and Taste Of Life allows lead singer Jamie Lowe to showcase the emotional range of his high-reaching voice.

Speaking on the release, Jamie describes the EP as “more like a condensed album — six huge songs that we’re buzzing to deliver. There are some big, raw riffs in there, but the EP also peels back deeper layers of our sound.” He also points to the impact of new drummer Regan Grimson, whose contribution “brings even more heat to these tracks.”

Following a brief hiatus after their 2023 debut album Without Motion, So Far Behind marks a new and exciting creative chapter.
