In his own words, Fly the Nest explains, "The song is about having a connection with someone that's ultimately lost. Though it hurts to see it end, you really do wish them the best and hope they find what they're looking for."
Telling the story of the day where all comes to an end, the verses outline past conversations and old memories of the narrator who feels the need of having to let go. The uplifting chorus of 'Old Street Lover' symbolises the hope for the other person to find happiness, comfort and satisfaction with their decisions.
Fly the Nest (Stephen Cooper) has previously performed in various bands before he decided to start his solo project. He not only spends his time writing and releasing own music but furthermore writes for synch, which has opened another facet of his creativity, as he explains himself. At the moment, Fly the Nest is spending his time between Ireland and Denmark, gigging regularly across Scandinavia.
