We caught up with Dailla to talk about the inspiration behind “Twisted Heart”, her evolving sound, and the balance she strikes between intimate storytelling and bold pop production.
Welcome to Curious For Music! Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your latest release?
Thank you so much for reaching out and for having me! Twisted Heart was born from that moment when you realize you’re being pulled into a game you already know, yet you can’t resist it. It’s about an attraction that’s both dangerous and thrilling. I wanted to capture that mixture of strength and weakness — knowing you should walk away, yet staying because passion feels stronger than reason.
What was the creative process like for this project?
The process was very intuitive. It all started with a guitar riff and rhythm that instantly set a dance-driven energy. From there, the words and melody came together naturally — with lightness, a bit of playfulness, and a lot of emotion. I worked on this track with Marcell, who produced it and gave it its strong dance character. We really complemented each other in the process — he brought in the pop production ideas, and I leaned into the raw emotion. Together we created a song where a dance groove and personal confession meet as one.
How does this new release differ from your previous work?
Twisted Heart carries a playful, flirty, dance energy, but still holds onto my signature vulnerability that gives it depth and authenticity. Compared to my earlier work — Running Wild was a fragile, intimate ballad, River Flow had a cinematic intensity, Garden brought a soft, romantic and poetic atmosphere, and Some Love was a raw, rock-tinged confession of loneliness and longing. Each of these tracks reveals a different side of me, but what ties them together is honesty and emotional openness.
Were there any particular challenges you faced while making this music?
The biggest challenge was finding the right balance between lightness and depth. I didn’t want it to be just a “party track,” but I also wanted it to keep that dance groove. It was about keeping the emotions raw without making the song feel too heavy.
Did you collaborate with any other artists or producers on this project?
I’ve been collaborating with Marcell on all of my songs, and Twisted Heart is no exception. He produced the track and brought in the dance energy and modern pop sound thatbeautifully complemented my lyrical honesty and emotional side. Thanks to that, the song has a playful groove while still remaining personal and sincere.
What message or emotion do you hope listeners take away from this release?
For me, Twisted Heart is about fragile line between resistance and desire — you know you should hit the brakes, but instead you let yourself get swept away and dive in headfirst. I believe listeners will connect with this summer track, because who hasn’t gone all in on something, even knowing it might not be a good idea?
Is there a story or concept that ties the songs together?
Yes, all of my recent singles — from Some Love through Running Wild and River Flow to Garden — share a common thread of vulnerability and longing. Each one shows a different face of that journey: loneliness, quiet separation, dangerous temptation, pure romance… and Twisted Heart is the chapter where pain turns into a fearless dance.
How has your sound or style evolved on this release compared to your earlier work?
In the beginning, I was very focused on intimacy and ballads. Now I’m not afraid of bigger beats, more prominent guitars, and dance energy. It’s a natural step towards more boldness while still staying rooted in emotional honesty and catchy pop melodies. Looking ahead, I’d also love to bring more rock influences into my music, because its rawness and energy feel like a natural extension of what I do.
Is there a track in your music discography that feels especially meaningful to you? What makes it stand out?
Some Love will always be a manifesto for me — the most honest confession of lonelines and longing I’ve written so far. Garden is the opposite side of that spectrum — an intimate ballad about the courage to show love openly, to feel it fully without masks or barriers, and to trust that real emotions matter. On the surface they’re very different songs, but they’re united by honesty and raw emotion. That’s where I see the true power of my music — giving space to what is real.
How do you plan to share this release with your audience? Are there any upcoming performances, videos, or special projects in the works?
I have visuals planned for my new songs to highlight their moods and emotions even more. Promotion on Instagram and playlist placements on Spotify also play a big role — Twisted Heart earned a spot on the editorial playlist New Music Friday CZ & SK, which made me really happy. Of course, I’m excited for live shows too, because that’s where this energy comes alive in a completely new way. And beyond that, I’m already working on more music that will gradually reveal the full mosaic of this new chapter.
