From psychedelic basslines to groove-heavy house cuts, Indigo Valet has built a sound that refuses to stay in one lane. Pulling influence from Hip Hop while weaving through House, UKG, Bass, and Indie Dance, his productions feel both organic and unpredictable, textured with warm, rounded tones and driven by low-end energy. Whether behind the decks or in the studio, Indy V creates moments that are funky, emotional, sexy, and just the right amount of filthy, keeping crowds locked in and constantly guessing what comes next.
Welcome to Curious For Music! Can you tell us about the inspiration behind your latest release?
The inspiration for ‘Such a Rush’ came from the slower pace that winter offers. A chance to focus more inward. It is the first song on my ‘Beautiful and Strange’ EP.
What was the creative process like for this project?
The creative process was nights spent in solitude with Ableton.
How does this new release differ from your previous work?
This release is a more emotional take than my previous music. It is also the first in the UKG/2 Step/Breaks genre, which I really love and would like to continue to delve into further.
Were there any particular challenges you faced while making this music?
No challenges, this one flowed very freely and within a few days. I even had the cover art chosen a few years ago, but knew I wanted to wait until I could make something that fit this sonic profile.
What message or emotion do you hope listeners take away from this release?
I hope listeners are able to slow down and appreciate where/who they are with.
Is there a story or concept that ties the songs together?
All four songs on ‘Beautiful and Strange’ fit together sonically rather than thematically. With that said, they are similar in sound and live together cohesively. A bit of an emotional grainy landscape. I did not want to make something sad, but rather reflective.
Is there a track in your music discography that feels especially meaningful to you? What makes it stand out?
‘Such a Rush’ in particular really pushed me to create songs that are more musically moving and evolve across the whole song. I have been playing a lot of piano lately so it was a chance to make a dance song that was chord driven as well.
How do you plan to share this release with your audience? Are there any upcoming performances, videos, or special projects in the works?
‘Such a Rush’ stands out because it represents my sound well. Emotional but bass driven, hard hitting drums that are not chaotic. Asking “why we gotta be in such a rush” heavily aligns with my life pace as well haha. I am happy with this one. The song is out now everywhere!
