Joshua Milú is back with a brand-new EP, ‘Sucito: A Home’. Clocking in at just over 10 minutes, with only three songs, this EP wastes no time in establishing in its identity. Each track in the EP serves a different purpose and adds to the context that Milú wanted to create.
The EP starts off strong with the slightly overstimulating track, ‘Mayhem’. It grabs the listener’s attention immediately with a sense of urgency. The production of the track is focused, allowing the emotional part of it to be front and centre.
‘OATMEAL’ follows it up and adds a different vibe to ‘Sucito: A Home’, it’s the EP’s most nuanced performance. This track, in particular, presents Milú’s ability to transform the simplest of things into reflections of comfort and routine.
Finishing the EP is the titular track, ‘A Home’ and this one seems to act as the project’s anchor. While the first two songs discuss the feelings of instability, this song seems particularly grounding. It demonstrates Milú’s personal thoughts and feelings of how he has become to accept himself, which is a beautiful thing.
Overall, ‘Sucito: A Home’ is almost like a journey, strolling alongside Milú himself. It takes the listener right through all of the loud chaos of being unsure then finally, by the end, accepting oneself. It is definitely an EP that rewards an extremely attentive listener.
