Ychabods Deliver a Bold and Thoughtful Rock Statement with ‘Message Through Meadows’

The roots of the project trace back to the 2022 reunion of Mario Selecky and Filip Paulo, whose unfinished material quickly evolved into a broader artistic vision. As bassist Lubos Duris and guitarist-vocalist Martin Molnar joined the fold, Ychabods developed an increasingly rich and eclectic sound. That chemistry is evident throughout the EP, which balances individual expression with a strong sense of collective purpose.

"Time Traveller" opens the collection with both energy and imagination. Inspired by Black Sabbath's legendary "Iron Man," the song transforms a familiar concept into something hopeful and reflective. The mood becomes more intimate on "Good Times," a standout track steeped in the spirit of 1990s alternative rock. Rather than dwelling on nostalgia, the song focuses on the importance of embracing the present. Meanwhile, "Purple Man" showcases Ychabods at their most sonically adventurous. Inspired by the Marvel villain's ability to control minds, the track explores questions of autonomy and manipulation through psychedelic arrangements and inventive rhythmic structures. The drum-centered approach provides a hypnotic foundation that allows the song's themes to resonate long after it ends.

The EP concludes with "Tzar's Bloody Rodeo," a fierce burst of garage rock that channels the raw energy of bands like The White Stripes while delivering pointed social commentary.
