After rousing us with their superb 2018 debut LP 'Endurance', emerging outfit Project Blackbird are looking to bring back more of that euphoric feel with their latest release 'If This Is The End'.
Recorded before the first lockdown in March last year, 'If This Is The End' looks to signify the ultimate quarantine album. Finished up throughout the pandemic, the general tone of this new collection seems to have shifted with the times, giving it a more atmospheric and layered feel than most.
Talking about it, the band added, "We started writing the songs that would become If This Is the End in late 2019 and recorded, remotely and/or through social distancing, during the lockdowns of 2020. The COVID-19 pandemic aside, as a band and individuals we’ve been negotiating much uncertainty, change, and loss over the past year, which is evident in the themes and shifting moods of the album. It is at turns bittersweet, unsettling, reflective, hopeful, and hopefully uplifting. We were honoured to have a number of guests join us from afar, whose contributions have enhanced a sound that remains unmistakably Project Blackbird."
